In perfect football conditions, the Bushhawks faced off against the Gungahlin Bulls.
The Bulls were fast out of the gate, posting a early try but our boys quickly settled and got down to business with Ethan Abnett, Phoenix Daries, Hamish Kennedy and Joshua Gorman all trying hard.
Our captain Justin Woodhead played strong and led his side well.
Our vice captain Billy Fogg was great in defence and kept the team moving forward in attack.
Bailey McKinnon played his best game this season.
Angus Whybrow was awesome, tackling hard and running strong.
Deklan Friend and Tarell Karaitiana Halls enjoyed there time at the ground as did all the boys.
In the end, the boys went down by 4 but receiving Raiders shirts the boys went away happy as.
If there are any kids wanting to get involved in junior league training is Tuesday and Thursdays kicking off around 4.30pm come and speak to one of the coaches.
Thanks to our sponsors Boorowa Bobcat Tipper Hire and the Harden Country Club.
Under 14’s League Tag
Last Saturday saw us meet with the Wagga Kangaroos in Harden.
On a beautiful sunny day our Under 14s League Tag Team had an impressive win 40-18.
The first half of the game was fast and nail biting.
The girls were kept busy with lots of defence tagging, preventing their opponents from scoring too many tries.
The team work from everyone saw us getting plenty of tries with Jasmine scoring two, Jorja one, Clare two, Imogen four and Tara and Hunter securing conversion points.
The victory was a full team effort with all players contributing greatly.
Well played to every team member!
Next week will see us travel to Cootamundra to be challenged by the Bulldogs. Good luck girls!

Under 15s League
Under 15s Bushhawks came up against Wagga kangaroos last weekend at home in Harden.
Straight off the whistle the kangaroos brought hard-hitting tackles, a very big aggressive playing side was pushed back by own evenly matched team.
Jake Christie showing off all his skills out on the wing yet again scoring four tries for the day but it wasn’t easy going taking some big hits himself.
Also on the wing we have Jack Innes which also made his presence known, James Collins tried a different position moving to 5/8.
Bailey Minson and Zac Sommer were our centres.
Jack Glover in hooker, Joie Whybrow stayed in lock, all made the Kangaroos know this game wasn’t going to be easy.
Joie also converted tries for the week.
Beau Abnett from the U14s give us his all in fullback position making two tries.
Jacob Piper comfortable in his half back position.
Josh DeMont, Ben Klose first row backed up by Ben Hambrook and Darcy Fogg second row were able to keep a level head and take on some big tackles to keep the Kangaroos at bay for the first half.
Cooper Cross and Josh Flick also from the U14s where our reserves and weren’t they needed!
Bushwalks found the opposition tough going, kangaroos made a comeback in the second half levelling up scores 24 all.
The last five minutes, a frustrated Kangaroos just couldn't keep up with our Bushhawks.
The boys taking an opportunity to score.
All the boys were physically exhausted but kept up their game to keep the Kangaroos guessing.
It wasn’t without casualty it was unfortunate for the kangaroos losing two players to injury, but a credit to our boys giving the opposition the respect and wishing those boys a quick recovery.
A close win to the Bushhawks 28-24.
These boys are at home next on May 26 vs Young, we would love to see you all there.
Special thanks to a couple of the Youth league players for attending last week‘s training giving us some tips and tricks.
