It’s history now, but that day saw the Harden Hawks blow Boorowa off the park in the first half eventually defeating the Rovers by 42-16.
It was the beginning of the end for the Rovers who lost the following week to be eliminated from the Premiership race, whilst Harden would eventually become the Premiers.
Eight months is a long time for a shot at redemption and that’s exactly what the Rovers will be chasing when they once again visit the Harden fortress at McLean Oval.
This match will be the first major test for the Rovers who have started the season with four wins from as many starts.
Harden have lost just once against the strong North Canberra Bears and last week they beat Crookwell in a grand final replay.
Both sides will be confident they can score plenty of points and it may well be the battle of the forward packs that decide this one.
Boorowa has plenty of power in its forward pack and loads of depth off the bench.
Fresh from the bye last Saturday, the Rovers will be well prepared for this match.
They won’t make the same mistake as last years semi final where Harden simply ambushed the Boorowa side.

Results from last week in the George Tooke Shield saw North Canberra 68 demolish ADFA 4, Bungendore 22 defeated Gunning 4, UC Grizzlies 32 beat Binalong 22 and in the match of the day, Harden 30 defeated Crookwell 18.

In the league tag, North Canberra 42 beat ADFA 6, Bungendore 18 beat Gunning 0, UC Grizzlies 42 beat Binalong 0, Harden Hawkettes 32 beat Crookwell She-Devils 6.

In the Youth league Crookwell 14 overcame a very plucky Boorowa/Harden 12 whilst Tuggeranong 34 beat North Canberra 10.
The Youth League ladder looks this way, Yass 8, Harden/Boorowa 6, Tuggeranong 6, Crookwell 6, North Canberra 4, Bungendore 2.
This week’s other clashes in the George Tooke Shield and league tag sees Binalong at home to Gunning, Crookwell host Bungendore and ADFA are at home to the Grizzlies.
North Canberra have this weekend’s bye.
Whilst the Rovers take on Harden in the big one, the curtain raisers will prove just as salivating.
In the league tag, The Harden Hawkettes take on the Roverettes at 2.20pm.
The Youth league will see the Combined Boorowa/Harden outfit clash with Tuggeranong at 1pm.
This will be an entertaining match as both sides are in good form.
McLean oval will be bursting at the seams with three sensational games scheduled.
