Jocelyn, who was introduced by Probus member, Maureen Beere, spoke about her history in nursing, why she is in Boorowa and the services provided for the community by the community nurse.
Members of the club were made aware of the vast range of services available from the community nurse and Boorowa Multipurpose Centre.
It was a pleasure to host Jocelyn and to be able to ask pertinent questions about the services provided.
At last Monday's meeting Jan O'Dea, catering officer announced she had quotes for the annual June luncheon.
Members decided that the luncheon would be at the Ex-Services Club on June 18.
Social secretary, Maree Adams, presented the club with an exciting program of events, trips and activities which have been organised for 2018.
These included trips to Crookwell, Junee, Galong monastery and a possible trip to Melbourne to see Mamma Mia, the musical, together with a range of club activities sure to challenge, excite and enervate members.
If you are new to Boorowa and would like to meet and make friends with a group of active retirees and local people, come along to the June meeting, join in the fun of bingo and see if this is the club for you!
Or later in the year be prepared for a carnival day, food tasting, a Melbourne Cup event, a bbq in the park or a Xmas lunch.
There is sure to be something and someone of interest for you to meet!
The Probus Club has a changed executive for 2018.
The new president is Ron Hoile, secretary is Barb Kessler and treasurer Gwen Crowe, as well as Maree and Jan mentioned previously.
The proposed program for 2018 will be of interest to anyone who wishes to pursue an active retirement. The next meeting is Monday, June 4 at the Ex-Services Club.
