It was the fourth straight win for the Rovers and keeps them in equal top spot with Crookwell and the North Canberra Bears.
The Rovers never looked troubled by the Tigers having a commanding halftime lead before closing out the game.
Probably the Rovers biggest challenge was the field, which resembled a dust bowl that is badly in need of an inch of rain or two.
There were plenty of good players for the Rovers with three points to Anthony Crowe who was at his elusive best.
Two points went to the classy Daniel Roberts whilst one point each went to Andrew Burns and Shannon Ellis.
Players’ Player was shared between the consistent Anthony Crowe and Mark Veness who is impressing with every outing.
In other George Tooke results from round four: North Canberra 22 narrowly beat Harden 16. Gunning drew with UC Grizzlies 20 all and Crookwell made light work of Binalong defeating the Brahmans 42-4.
ADFA had the bye.
This week in the George Tooke shield and League tag, North Canberra take on ADFA, Bungendore host Gunning, UC Grizzlies are at home to Binalong whilst the match of the round in George Tooke sees Harden host Crookwell in what should be a beauty.
Boorowa has the bye.
Meanwhile the league tag saw Boorowa Roverettes lose a thriller, 22-16 to Bungendore Tigerettes.
With the scores locked at 16-16, Bungendore scored a controversial try in the last seconds of the game to take the two competition points.
It was a heart breaker for Boorowa, but the signs are very promising from the girls so far this season and they will definitely be a big threat in the competition.
In other league tag games, Gunning 24 beat UC Grizzlies 10, Harden 28 beat North Canberra 10 and Crookwell 52 beat Binalong 4. ADFA had the bye.
In youth league action, the combined Boorowa/Harden team continues to impress, this time defeating North Canberra by 28-12.
It’s a credit to the team and support staff in the way that this side has gelled so quickly and the remainder of the season looks very promising.
