Calling for the report at the most recent meeting of Hilltops Council, Councillor Tony Flannery said he had asked for the report on staff numbers, pre and post amalgamation, on more than one occasion.
Cr Flannery criticised staff for their lack of action after making his latest call for a report.
Cr Flannery says he has asked for reports on land conversions; staff numbers at the Boorowa and Harden offices and; the doctors situation at Harden on several occasions without the reports materialising.
“At the last council meeting and at two of the prior meetings I asked for a report on staff numbers at the Harden and Boorowa office, so for the third meeting that hasn’t turned up,” Cr Flannery said.
“I’ve asked for a report on what is required to a land conversion outside of the LEP and that hasn’t turned up.
“I’ve asked for a report on where the doctor’s contract is up to in Harden and that hasn’t turned up.
“I didn’t ask for a report but I would like to know what is happening with the GM (general manager).
”It just seems to me, I really don’t know how to address this, but either staff don’t think it is important to produce these reports, have no regard for councillors who request the reports, or there might be some other reason.
“Could I have a report on the staff numbers, a report on what is required of a land conversion outside the LEP knowing its going to take at least two years to do a LEP.
“I’ve asked for the doctor’s contract and I’d like to know what is happening about the appointment of a firm to get the GM’s position advertised,” Cr Flannery repeated on more than one occasion during last week’s meeting.
His comments followed tabling of an actions report from council staff.
In relation to recruitment of the general manager Cr Wendy Tuckerman said she was concerned there was nothing in this month's council business paper.
“We are being kept in the dark in regards to what is going on, with the recruitment,” Cr Tuckerman said.
“I see it as an absolute priority.
“I am just wondering why it hasn’t come to council. It’s urgent we need to do something,” Cr Tuckerman said.
In defence of the council staff, Hilltops mayor Mayor Brian Ingram said he was sure staff had “got the message” about the reports councillor Flannery requested.
Council voted that the staff prepare the reports to be presented to a council meeting to be held in May.
