Chalkie released his first single, New Day, last year after a successful battle with cancer and his latest single, Gingerbread Man, was written by Nashville songwriter Vernon Rust.
New Day reached No. 4 on the iTunes Country Songs Chart on release.
The album, My Song Isn't Written Yet, is full of snippets from life and is sure to resonate with lovers of story songs and country music.
Gingerbread Man tells the story of a man who continually runs from commitment. This is a theme many people can relate to and Chalkie said he had an immediate connection with the song
The Southern Tablelands artist said he, himself, had spent many years being that person who was non-committal to relationships until his wife, Dana, came along and changed that forever.
“I met Vernon a few years ago and we’ve been chatting regularly ever since,” Chalkie said.
“As I was going through cancer treatment, we spoke a few times about songwriting and me wanting to do an album. He pitched the song to me and from the first listen, I knew I was taking it to the studio.
“I believe a lot of people will relate to the song’s theme and hopefully connect to it in the way that I did the first time I heard it.”
Chalkie is a pure entertainer, driven by his love of music.
He has been touring and performing across Australia for the past 20 years.
From the age of 9 when he first picked up a guitar, White has been honing his craft.
Winning the Gympie Muster Talent Search in 2001 and cracking the Toyota Star Maker grand final at Tamworth in 2002 were early career highlights.
