Both teams played Young Bowling Club at Boorowa in what could only be described as “trying conditions” with the north westerly wind blowing at 60 km per hour and swirling in behind the buildings made bowling very difficult.
The match between Young 3’s and Boorowa 4’s results were:
- Chris Grimson defeated G DeBritt 31 –16
- father Des went down to Cliff Traynor 9 – 30
- and Daryl murphy survived a rally by K. Porter to run out a winner by 28- 21.
The ends were 32-31 to Boorowa and the total shots close at 68-67 also to Boorowa.
The No. 6 grade results were:
- John Crowe defeated M Manwaring 18-15
- Barry Coble defeated S Freudenstein 22-14,
- and Gerard Dunn in a close one lost to T Ruhl 16-24.
Overall shots went to Boorowa Ex-Services 56-53.
Thursday’s social Triples Trophy was shared by veteran Nev Thurtell and regular visitor Charlie Sorgseppe on 23 with Gerry Monaghan making up the top three on 22.
