This is a first for our sub-region, with our neighbours at Yass Area Network, to host a bus trip to showcase several properties nominated by BCLG and HCLG as local Landcare champions.
Buses will depart at 11am sharp from Frogmore Hall and Banjo Patterson Park, off Rossi St Yass (behind the Soldiers Memorial Hall) and will pick up at Old Court House Park (Queen St Boorowa) at 11.45am.
Site visits include the Marshes property ‘Allendale’ at Boorowa, stops at Hovells Creek to view strategic gully and salinity plantings and a tour of McDonalds Farm Tree Nursery at Darby’s Falls.
Tour will conclude with a celebratory dinner at the Frogmore Hall where local champions will receive awards presented by Hon Angus Taylor MP Member for Hume.
Guest speaker will be Damon Oliver NSW Office of Environment and Heritage, speaking about Save Our Species project focussed on the Superb Parrot, an iconic species in our area.
This is a fantastic opportunity for urban land carers, farmers and graziers to meet & network with other Landcare groups and with their stakeholders and see on-ground works of local Landcare champions.
The event is FREE to Landcare members (check with your local group if your membership is up to date) lunch, afternoon tea & dinner provided. Buses will return patrons to Boorowa and Yass after dinner.
Seats on buses are limited, Bookings essential by Friday, March 16 on Eventbrite https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/boorowa-community-hovells-creek-landcare-groups-bus-trip-awards-dinner-tickets-43223906869
