The Rally kicks off from Hillston March 5, concluding March 10 at Darlington Point. Several thousand kilometres of travel with mystery stops through the week.
Pierre and Cherylee had this on their bucket list, so I believe they will experience a great time.
Donations will make the trip that much more worthwhile. Contact Pierre 0428 853 013, Cherylee 0418 201 397 or go online www.riverinaredneckrally.com.au and chose ‘Boorowa Rumbledore’. The more raised, better for the kids supported by Country hope. “Go Rumbledore go!”

It’s countdown to the very popular International Women’s Day Sunday, March 11 at the Ex-Services Club. Four excellent keynote speakers in Yvonne Allen, Emma Rossi, Rachel Stevens and Claire Beath talking on a variety of topics centred around the theme ‘Fear on the Frontline’.
Organiser, Janene Hurley, realizing the topics touched on issues that are very relevant to nutritional and emotional concerns facing young women, has suggested attendees consider inviting younger relatives and friends to come along and experience this inspirational day.
Information and bookings contact Janene 63851330 or E:janene.hurley@hilltops.nsw.gov.au.

Some sceptics doubted the Op Shop opened by the Rotary Club would be a success. I am pleased to say that an ‘arrow’ has taken out the skepticism and the Op Shop continues to go from strength to strength. After six months of operation the shop has been able to donate in the vicinity of $12000 to eight community charities. A feel good community story with the Rotary Club and a string of willing volunteers deserving a pat on the back.

I’ve heard some strange excuses for a bad shot at golf, but playing on that windy Tuesday last week, one of my golfing buddies hit a wayward shot exclaiming, “The wind was so strong it blew my arms off course!” No names mentioned, but with a name like his, he could be manager of a ‘Sleep Lab’.

Great concert at the Ex-Services Club last Friday night. Fabulous music with Brewn, but Tania Kernaghan stole the show when the band miked up the old piano and she sang “A Bushman Can’t Survive”. Could have heard a pin drop in the auditorium. Brilliant.

“God Bless America,” they say in the big US. They’d better be grateful for God, because while they’ve got this ridiculous gun culture in the States, they’re doing nothing to help themselves.
The second amendment, as is so often cited as the right for Americans to bear arms, surely needs amending. In 2015, 12286 Americans were killed by guns and 26819 injured. This equates to 31 deaths and 74 injuries per day.
The youth of America are starting to raise their voices saying, “Enough is enough.” Let their voices ring loud and a good starting question to consider, “Who needs automatic and semi-automatic weapons? Who needs arsenals of weapons?” To my way of thinking, not one private individual.

Some great people, memorable people, even notorious people, have said some great things. I don’t necessarily agree with the first two needs, but definitely the third expressed in this quote:
“All you need for happiness is a good gun, a good horse, and a good wife.” (Daniel Boone)
