Christ Church, Cootamundra, was almost filled to capacity for the Thanksgiving Eucharist on January 20 to mark the Golden Jubilees of Fr Bill Pryce and Rev Canon Bill Wright, who were both ordained by the late Rt Rev E H Burgmann in December, 1957.

Both have a strong connection with Boorowa. Fr Bill Pryce has served here in a locum capacity and Canon Bill Wright was rector of Boorowa from 1961 to 1967.

Bishop George Browning was the celebrant and preacher at the service, assisted by a number of Diocesan clergy.

In his address, Bishop Browning spoke of the great example of faithfulness shown by the guests of honour and of the service as a thanksgiving for their life of ministry.

Members of the large congregation later socialised, and enjoyed time with the ‘two Bills,’ during refreshments in the Christ Church Parish Hall.
