Co-organiser Richard Fleming said after last year’s successful fundraiser, the team was keen to hit in the road again and raise money for the Country Education Foundation.
“It was a great success and we raised $60,000 which was amazing,” Richard said.
“Being such a success last year we are going to get Percy back on the road again this year.
“However, we are bringing Percy home.
“We will be travelling from Orange to Boorowa.”
Percy will depart from Orange on April 8 and arrive back in Boorowa on Saturday, April 14.
Last year saw Percy make the 230 kilometre journey across the Central West, with teams of 10 from towns across the region helping to push the pig, which was created by residents in Boorowa.
Richard said this year would be extra special, with the Country Education Foundation celebrating its 25th anniversary.
Boorowa was chosen as a symbolic start line for the fundraising quest last year, being the original home of the Country Education Foundation, which helps rural and regional youth access education, training and jobs.
