If you have a good looking mob of heifers, or your cows and calves are the best along your road, be a part of this great day out on Friday, February 9 and contact Chief Steward, Angus Coles (Phone: 6385 1215 Mob: 0429 452 204) to place an entry in the classes.
The Commercial Cattle Section, as part of the annual Show display, has gone from strength to strength over recent years after our committee looked at ways to hold a commercial cattle competition without the expense to owners and stress to the animals to get to a central judging point.
The Boorowa Show was the first society, as far as we know, to initiate this form of competition for cattle, and is run similarly to Flock Ewe Competitions on property.
Of course, the dedicated sub committee and generous sponsors, Thompson’s Rural Supplies and Corkhill’s Ag Services, must be congratulated on putting together such a competition and enabling all interested people to enjoy a wonderful day.
To join a coach load of interested “tourists” on the day to watch the judging at the entrants properties, and hear the judges appraisals, please call Angus Coles to book your seat, or contact The Show Secretary.
The bus leaves very early, at 7am from Boorowa.
