There was some sad news in this edition, with a report on the memorial service for Private Albert Ernest Mewburn, who was killed during World War 1.
His service was held at St Mathew’s Church of England Rye Park and conducted by Rev. W. S. Price.
This edition also featured a piece on the return of the Sisters to open the school in Marengo (which, of course, is Murringo today) for the school year. Sister M Madeline was not returning to the school and expressed “regret” at her “removal”.
This paper also information on the best crops to plant that season, a rain report and the story of Mr N. M. Kirealdy, an Engineer who travelled 4726 miles in 1917.
