Heat fails to deter Boorowa’s golfers over Christmas

It has been a few weeks since the last golf report and that is because I slackened off over the festive season, which I hope everyone enjoyed, and for that I apologise.

So the following are those results since the last report.

The green keeper's revenge was contested on December 16 in rather hot conditions. However quite a number of golfers attended this event.

Winners on the day was the team of Andrew McGrath and Robert Styles with net 58 1/4 while father and son team of Craig and Roger Mason were runners up on 61 2/3 net.

On Saturday, December 23, a club trophy was played for as a stroke competition with Robert Gorham taking home first prize with net 65 while Andrew McGrath came home in second place with net 66.

Another club trophy was up for grabs on Saturday, December 30 and was played as a stableford competition.

Robert Styles won with 37 points followed by Phil Johnston on 35 points.

Ball comp winner on 34 points went to Greg Atkins with Danny Cassells as nearest to the pin prize winner.

Rebecca and Tim Poplin's two person ambrose trophy is scheduled for Saturday, January 20. This event is a mixed competition with any combination of men and lady golfers.

As an interesting change to normal competition the course will be played in the original layout including using the original tees an the grass greens. This promises to be an interesting and fun filled day.
