Boorowa M&D Society present their annual Carols and Readings, this year in the Uniting Church, 7.30pm Tuesday December 19.
This really heartwarming evening features relevant Bible readings highlighting the Christmas Story and, importantly, some beautiful Christmas Carols/Songs presented by the M&D Choir, and. as I said earlier, a chance to join in singing most of our much loved Carols. Don’t miss it.

Congratulations to Boorowa Rotary Club for not only keeping the markets going, but increasing them from quarterly to monthly.
With Christmas shopping in mind think seriously about visiting these successful markets, you may be surprised about the bargains and variety of goods on offer.

A lady walks into Harrods, looks around and walks over to inspect a diamond bracelet she saw. As she bends over to look more closely she unexpectedly farts.
Very embarrassed, she looks around nervously hoping no one noticed her little woops, praying a sales person is nowhere near.
As she turns, her worst nightmare materializes, a salesman is standing right behind her – good looking and cool as a cucumber, he displays all of the qualities one would expect of a professional in a store kike Harrods.
He politely greets the lady with, “Good day Madam. How may I help you today?”
Blushing and uncomfortable, but still hoping the salesman somehow missed her little ‘incident’, she asks “What is the price of this lovely bracelet?”
He answers, “Madam – if you farted just looking at it – I’d hate to think what you’re going to do when I tell you the price!”

Safety improvement works on the Barton Highway are said to begin shortly and plans to duplicate part of the roads will be brought forward beginning at the ACT border.
NSW and Federal Government announcement said initial works will include new signs, tree trimming and extra safety barriers with extra funding allowing for some duplication.
The Duplicate the Barton Highway Action Group is pleased with the announcement but faces the challenge to pressure the governments to fund the duplication of the entire Highway.
This is all very well, but in reality we must all get behind this group and push for this busy road to be upgraded to a standard we all expect.
Name a major road into a capital city as poor as the ‘goat track’ we call the Barton Highway, the worst such highway in our nation.
This road is a disgrace and both state and federal governments should hang their heads in shame.

A reminder to state and federal politicians, Lachlan Valley Way is on a par with Barton Highway – and just as deadly.

In a recent statement regarding Barton Highway, Pru Goward indicated between 1997 and 2011 there were 19 fatalities and 258 injuries on this highway. How many more since?
Pru concluded her statement saying, “… so the need to act is clear.”
