With support from local business groups and various government bodies, local businesses came together to network and listen to some pitches from local businesses.
The meet up was held at the Wombat Pub, who provided some delicious food, kindly sponsored this month by PointsBuild.
Business Connect is an initiative run by business for business across the Southern Inland region of NSW.
The informal catch-ups allow businesses to engage with each other, discuss potential collaborations, speak to their local council or state and federal government representatives, or simply ask questions or share innovative ideas.
The introduction of a Hilltops Connect has been in the works for a while now, given the diverse business community of Hilltops.
With 35 people in the room, conversations and introductions included seasonal challenges, managing major export activity and generally sharing of business ideas.
Highlights from the night included a Boorowa prototype engineer working to support 3D manufacturing, PointsBuild’s quest to commercialise a medical device and SeedTech’s national service that reaches well beyond the surrounding region.
Economic Development Officer at Hilltops Council, Debbie Evans, is excited about the new opportunities that Hilltops Connect can unveil.
“The sharing of experiences and ideas means that people can be exposed to new ways of thinking to overcome challenges…I’d urge more people to come along next year and through sharing their stories add to the knowledge base of the Hilltops business community, thereby strengthening the business community.”
Hilltops Connect will be back again early 2018. All local businesses are encouraged to come along – it’s a great opportunity to meet like-minded businesses and discover new business opportunities.
Hilltops Connect is proudly supported by the Boorowa Business Chamber, Harden Regional Development Corporation, Young Development Group, Hilltops Women in Business, Hilltops Council, AusIndustry, CBRIN (Canberra Innovation Network) and RDA Southern Inland.
