Accompanied by their teachers and some parents, the class headed over to the Lake for a three day/two nights camp.
On arrival, they met the students from St Francis Xavier Catholic Primary school and spent some time playing and getting to know them.
After this they then set up camp, had a swim with the local students at the town pool and then settled down to a BBQ dinner and stories and songs by the camp fire.
Thursday, November 30 was an incredible day out.
It started with some football softball at the park, before being met by Maniya and Aunty Josie who took the children to an ancient Ochre Pit to create their own paints and paintings.
The children then learnt about the Aboriginal culture in the region and participated in a dance and music workshop.
After this the children headed down to the lake for a swim and a kayak session.
The children had a lot of fun paddling around the headlands and splashing about in the warm water.
After a quick lunch and dry up, they then went out to the Weir and did some fishing in the Lachlan River – with some success, as a couple of large cod were hooked!
A lovely Chinese meal for dinner at the local club was enjoyed by all before story and singing time saw the evening out.
On Friday, December 1, the children packed up camp and spent time having a hit of tennis at the local courts, before having recess once again with the students from SFX, then followed by a small shopping experience.
The camp was then at an end and everyone headed back to Boorowa.
It was a wonderful three days!
