Boorowa Gymnastics Club hosted the annual interclub competition with Yass, which included Recreational, Team and Sports Acrobatic gymsports.
Fifteen recreational gymnasts from Boorowa were assessed on 11 skills on various apparatus which vary with ages.
Competitors were Bonnie Bromham, Banjo Crozier, Sebastian Crozier, Jess Kelly, Millie Kelly, Daisy Manges, Avril Robertson, Kai Blom, Preston Harris, Lachlan Li, Lila Manges, Harriet Miles, Mickaya Zagar and Anika Li.
Team Gym consists of a set of tumbling runs, trampoline skills and a dance routine that includes balances and gymnastic skills. The team competed in the intermediate (second) level and performed a very impressive routine to the song “Sunshine, Lollypops and Rainbows”.
The team members were Kiara Shean, Tiffany Campbell, Talia Halls, Katlyn Edwards, Imogen Pye, Emily Dickson, Mackella Pye, Riley Eccles, Holly Blom, Carrie Smith and Emma Craig.
Sports Acrobatics consists of a balance routine and a dynamic routine, both of which include gymnastic skills. These can be performed by girls or boys in pairs, trios or quads and have three levels of difficulty.
Level 3 Quad entrants were Emerson Mann-Rea, Imogen Pye, Mackella Pye and Kiara Shean.
Level 3 Pairs were:
- Emily Dickson and Travis Gault
- Katlyn Edwards and Kiara Shean
- Imogen Pye and Mackella Pye
Level 2 Trios were Riley Eccles, Katlyn Edwards and Talia Halls.
Level 2 Pairs were:
- Molly Kelly and Holly Blom
- Carrie Smith and Riley Eccles
- Emerson Mann-Rea and Talia Halls
Level 1 Pairs were Anika Li and Tiffany Campbell, Kai Blom and Holly Blom, Finlay Shore and Kiara Shean, Lachlan Li and Mackella Pye, Avril Robertson and Mickaya Zagar, Poppy Lucas and Emma Craig, Bea Lucas and Emme Kelly, Claire Howlett was a cross-club partner with Tasmin Sommer and Tiffany Campbell assisted with a second partner Tilly Bowman.
The competition was very successful. All of our gymnasts were given the opportunity to display their gymnastic abilities and talent.
