Sue Corcoran and Eliza Chudleigh from Boorowa Pharmacy said the health network put the call out to pharmacies to run cancer awareness programs in their communities and decided to jump on board with the idea.
“We thought we would stick with the breast cancer idea so we are trying to do a community awareness campaign,” Sue said.
Despite October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Eliza said they wanted to keep the ball rolling and encourage community members to come and chat about any concerns they may have.
“October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month so there would have been national campaigns going on and we are just following on from that, to just keep the story going,” she said.
“We also encourage people if they have any questions that they can come chat to us.”
The team have also put up a window display and have pamphlets and brochures in store.
"We were just trying to carry on from all the things that were happening, the breast screen van was in the community in late September in Boorowa then Young,” Sue said.
The promotion will be in store for the month of November.
