Children’s Week is an event celebrated annually around Australia to celebrate the right of children to enjoy childhood, and showcases their many special talents, abilities and skills.
Events were planned and enjoyed by children across the centre from our very smallest up to our school aged children.
The BEE Centre held our annual Open Day on Tuesday, October 24, inviting new and existing families to spend time in our beautiful Centre, enjoy our everyday activities and get to know our amazing team.
The whole centre then ventured out into our community for a River Walk and picnic at the Rotary Park on Wednesday.
Our team of educators and volunteer parents put in a huge effort so that we could all enjoy a morning together in the sun, sharing morning tea and participating in parachute games.
On Thursday the BEE Centre became a ‘petting zoo’ with animals donated by several friends of the Centre for the children to learn about and interact with.
Miss Piggy, Jimmy the miniature horse, and Monty the hairless cat, were some of our furry (and not so furry!) friends that were popular with the children.
The Boorowa Library hosted us for Puggle’s Story Time on Friday morning which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.
The children also participated in cooking experiences, a science day, had a disco afternoon and created our BEE Centre Art Gallery to put their creative efforts on display.
Our Out of School Hours children played ball games at the park, and enjoyed dancing to the Wii as a special treat!
It was a fantastic week and great opportunity for our community to show the children how special they are.
