On Friday 20 October, the batting order for my grandson's Under 11 cricket team in the ACT junior cricket twilight competition had to be rejigged because almost half the team expected to be back late from the Boorowa touch football carnival.
When the parents and boys arrived they said they had been to the "best ever" sporting carnival in a little town where everyone was friendly and welcoming.
"They sure know how to put on a sports carnival," one of the parents told me. "Boorowa is a fantastic, beautiful place to visit."
I suggested that next October, as well as returning to the sports carnival they put the Woolfest on their calendar. Some wonderful occasions are obviously happening in Boorowa these days.
