The men’s field saw over twenty players line up whilst the women’s competition although with slightly less competitors, boosted a quality line up.
The men’s competition saw some great matches played before past champion Rod Neeson advanced to one spot in the final with a win over Steve Makings whilst surprise packet, Darryl Armour advanced after beat Phil Johnston in a thriller.
Rod and Darryl both threw great darts in the decider but the high scoring of Rod proved too much for Darryl winning 3-0 in the final.
Rod also hit a 180 on the night.
In the ladies competition, the final was fought out between the young veteran’s Redean Hignett and Deb Cotter with Redean taking the title by 2-0.
Both these players have been sensational in the regular Thursday night competition and it was fitting they fought out the final.
Well done to both Rod and Redean who not doubt will be keen to defend their title next year.
It was a great night as always and many thanks to the recreation club for hosting the singles titles.
On Friday October 20, the presentation night will be held at the courthouse hotel commencing at 7pm.
There will be loads of awards and a game of darts of course so mark this date in your diary.
