Mr Dugald Walker asks whether the $15 million sweetener will be enough to get the Hilltops Administrator “over the line” on Election Day (Letters to the Editor, August 17).
Maybe he’s asking the wrong question.
Quite apart from any perceived incompetence on the part of the administrator, how is it possible that someone who has had 18 months more in the spotlight than any other candidate, and has been in all those photo opportunities handing over the $15 million amalgamation lolly, is even eligible as a candidate?
Surely anyone who took on the role of administrator in this ill thought out endeavour would not have expected to contest the subsequent election.
I’m sure that we will get what we vote for, but voters should at least be confident that the process is fair.
