As always, it was a fantastic team effort with a few outstanding performances by Rachel Corkery who got three points, Mackella Pye with two points and Amanda Noakes picking up one point.
Amanda was responsible for scoring all of Boorowa’s twelve points.
The other results from last weekend saw Bungendore just fall short of the ton winning 94-0 over ADFA.
Crookwell 8 beat Gunning 6 in a thriller whilst Harden 26 beat Binalong 0.
Grizzlies and the Raiderettes from Boomanulla had the bye.
The final ladder for the league tag looked this way: Bungendore 34, Harden 32, Boomanulla 28, Crookwell 26, Boorowa 24, Gunning 16, Binalong 12, UC Grizzlies 12, North Canberra 10, and ADFA 6.
This weekend will see the Bungendore Tigerettes have the week off whilst Harden play Boomanulla in the qualifying final and Crookwell play our own Roverettes in the elimination final at Mclean oval, Harden.
There’s no doubt the Bungendore girls are the red hot favourites to take the title and will fill one of the grand final spots.
In the qualifying final, Harden should prove too good for Boomanulla having lost only twice this season to Bungendore.
The Roverettes are a massive chance against Crookwell in the elimination final.
Having won their past three games, Boorowa continue to grow in confidence.
Their never say die attitude will be critical on the weekend and provided they start the game well and stick to Coach Shean’s game plan they should progress to week two of the semi finals.
The league tag kick off for the Roverettes will be at 10.55am on Saturday as part of a massive day at Maclean oval in Harden featuring five games of semi final football across the youth league, league tag and George Tooke Shield.
The supporters’ bus for the league tag will depart at 10am sharp from the Courthouse hotel so if you would like to see a top day of rugby league action please contact the Courthouse Hotel or club President Murray Armour for details.
The cost for the bus is $15 plus entry into the ground.
In other league news, the Rovers and Roverettes will have their annual presentation night on Saturday September 16 at the Ex-Services club. The cost for the night will be $30 with details available from the club.
Also on the radar is the Boorowa Rovers Reunion to be held on Saturday September 30.
This promises to be a great night and weekend when old friendships are rekindled and stories of the glory days re-told many times over.
If you haven’t booked it’s not on late.
Please contact the Ex-Services for details of the night.
In particular, the organising committee is looking to hear from players over the last decade or two.
If you’re quick, it’s not too late to order some of the memorabilia on sale such as reunion shirts but orders must be placed soon to allow for delivery.
It should be a massive weekend and a perfect way to end the footy year.
See you there.
