The flagship event of the Boorowa Business Chamber provides an exceptional opportunity to recognize and reward the amazing businesses whose passion, determination and success inspire other business and business people.
“It’s amazing to see 92 business nominated for the 2017 BBC Awards, across seven categories, the business awards recognize excellent in business leadership, entrepreneurship, social enterprise, sustainability, innovation, business growth and employment practices,” BBC President Michael Ward said.
“You don’t have to have a business to be a member of the Business Chamber, if you’re a resident or a ratepayer, if you have an interest in our region as a whole… it’s great to join the Business Chamber.”
The BBC Awards will cover the following categories:
- People’s Choice Best Customer Service “Business”
- People’s Choice Best Customer Service “Employee”
- Apprentice Trainee of the Year
- Business Retail
- Hospitality Business
- Trade Service
- Rural Service
- Overall Winner “Golden Shamrock Award”
Following the announcement of the winner, there will be an advertising campaign in some regional and Canberra newspapers promoting each of the category winners and extolling the virtues of living in the Hilltops region.
“For me, the important part of the awards is using it as a platform to market Boorowa,” Mr Ward said.
With the inaugural Hilltops Shire election on the September horizon, the BBC will also look to hold a General Meeting in August to discuss any issues members, ratepayers and guests require answered.
Those looking to run for council will be invited to attend and have the opportunity to deliver their message to intending voters.
“It will be a great opportunity for attending Councillors to express their opinion and viewpoints and of course for guests, the opportunity to ask questions about where they think Hilltops is heading. Everybody must think Hilltops, it’s as simple as that,” he said.
The awards kick off at 6.30pm.
