The Rovers piled on eleven tries in a very entertaining display of attack.
But just as impressive was the rock solid defence and the teams commitment to record a shutout result with some scrambling defence even in the games dying minutes.
Coach Josh Burns was extremely happy with the win just three weeks out from the semi finals.
It’s now not a matter of if the Rovers will play semi-final football, but more the question of where they can finish in the top five.
From the outset, the Rovers appeared switched on for this contest and it wasn’t long before they had their first points through the rampaging Michael McNamara who crashed over after three minutes.
Soon after fullback Steven Death crossed under the posts for Andrew Burns to convert and extend the lead to 12-0.
A massive 20/20 kick by skipper Josh Burns saw Boorowa go on the attack again and after some good backline move, winger Justin Corkery crossed for his first try of the afternoon.
Andrew Dickson landed a massive kick from the sideline for an 18-0 lead.
Just four minutes before the break, Ryan Foley took advantage of some slick Rovers work to score, then on the stroke of halftime Justin Corkery scored his second to make the score 28-0 at the break.
The message from coach Burns at halftime was simple. More of the same.
That’s exactly what the Rovers did and just seven minutes into the half, a good run by Tom Carnell led to a try by winger Digger Crawford.
Boorowa then began to really entertain the big crowd as a clever kick through by centre Andrew Dickson saw skipper Josh Burns swoop on the ball just before the dead ball line for a four pointer.
Dickson also set up the next one with a 40 metre run before offloading to the try scoring wizard Justin Corkery who was in for his hat-trick of tries on the day.
Matt Batt, who was having a fat time in the forwards, thought he’d have a piece of the pie scoring the next one to make it 46-0 and with plenty of time left it was inevitable that the Rovers would score the half century.
Andrew Burns then showed his class with a nice off load for Steven Death who picked up a meat pie double to bring up the half century.
A fitting curtain call came when Willis Arber scored the last of eleven tries off a neat kick and some great team work which epitomised the Rovers win.
The crowd was sorry to hear the full time siren sound, but left thoroughly entertained and impressed by their rampaging Rovers.
The town is buzzing with what this team is capable of.
It’s made all the more enjoyable by the achievements of our Roverettes who also seem destined for semi-final football.
Best for the Rovers was hard to pick as there were so many good players.
Andrew Dickson was outstanding in attack creating havoc all day for the opposing backs and picked up the three points.
Steven Death continued his good form to get the two points whilst the energizer bunny, Matt Batt just never runs out of power and terrorised the Bungendore forwards all day for one point.
Matt also got the players’ player award.
All the forwards went well laying the plat form for the backs to run riot in attack.
