Too hot to handle

In weather that would make the devil sweat, local cricket was called off last Saturday with the risk to players’ safety being deemed too high in the oppressive heat.

Indeed, very few games across the state went ahead after NSW cricket took the unusual step of recommending all district associations cancelled matches.

Therefore all sides split the points and now head into an even more important last round of matches before the finals.

For the Boorowa teams, a spot in the second grade finals is up for grabs with both teams fighting for fourth spot.

Both must win with a loss seeing potential relegation to the C Grade semis.

At worst, Boorowa will have one team in the B – Grade semis.

Both teams will finish the season with away games.

The Gators will take on the Yass Golf Club Colts at Murrumbateman whilst the Boorowa Crocs head to Bowning to take on the Aussie Hotel Pirates.

These are games that both sides should win however in recent weeks both teams have let certain victories slip from their grasp.

The semi-finals will begin on February 25 with the likely hood of a home game depending on where the teams finish on the ladder.

Don’t forget to join the teams at the Courthouse on Saturday night when we will know where the chips have fallen and who plays where the following week.

See you at the cricket.
