Port Macquarie beef lovers take on the Burger Rebellion monster burger challenge | video

PALMS are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy. Out comes the Burger Rebellion Challenge plate, are you ready?

Five beef patties, three rashers of bacon, two hash browns, five slices of cheese, lettuce, tomato, relish and honey mustard on a fresh bun topped with gherkins.

The rules are simple. Eat the monster 1.074 kilogram beast as fast as you can, along with your choice of drink, and get your photo and name on the wall of fame. It costs $40.

Fail to finish and you leave empty-handed. It was the brainchild of Burger Rebellion owner Matt Conway and so far, of the 40-odd people who have attempted the feat, only 14 have finished.

The latest challenger: Port Macquarie man Dave Sierota. His strategy was simple – pull it apart, eat the meat first and the bun last.

Did he succeed? Has he become just the 15th person to walk away with an empty plate? Find out how he fared ...
