Songs of Hope, a choir concert with guest artists, will again be staged this year in St Patrick’s Church, Boorowa, on Sunday, April 15, with funds raised being applied to the Boorowa-Young branch of Can Assist.

Last year the concert attracted a record audience, and organisers are hoping for continuing support for this worthy cause.
Participants this year will be the Australian Rugby Choir from Canberra, the Gospel Folk Choir, also from Canberra, the M&D Society Choir from Boorowa, and the Hilltops Choir from Young along with soprano Julie O’Connor from Harden and mezzo-soprano Rachel Campbell from Canberra.
The Gospel Folk Choir will be making a welcome return, and the Boorowa concert will be the final appearance of their popular long-term conductor Brian Triglone.
Best known as the conductor of the Rugby Choir, Rachel Campbell will this year also perform as a vocal soloist and combine with Julie O’Connor in a duet.
Rachel will also lead the gathering in two congregational hymns, which will replace the combined items performed in previous concerts.
Admission will be by donation, and members of the audience are asked to be generous, in view of the great work done in the district by the Can Assist committee.
This committee plays a significant role in supporting people undergoing treatment for cancer by providing funds to cover accommodation, travelling and other associated costs.
As part of the concert project Boorowa-Young Can Assist will be conducting a raffle offering a valuable prize and ticket sellers will be operating in front of Boorowa IGA on April 5 and 12.
