The event is estimated to have attracted 7000 people to the town and the main event, the Running of the Sheep, followed by the street parade, saw hundreds line Marsden Street to check out the action.
Woolfest MC, Jack Ryan, said the event highlights Boorowa’s culture and heritage.
“This event showcases the fine wool and the Boorowa’s strong Irish connection,” he said.
Jack highlighted the different performers, activities and stalls on display this year.
“Canberra Celtic Pipe Band once again did not disappoint,” he said.
This year also had a sombre note, with two prominent performers, Luke Dowell and Retaw Boyce, remembered after they lost their lives earlier this year.
“Our condolences to their partners and families,” Mr Ryan said.
Retaw was remembered as a gentle, quiet soul who spoke through his music, whilst Luke was remembered as a wonderful entertainer with the Gold Trails Re-Enactment group.
“Retaw enriched our streets with his violin and we shall never forget him,” Mr Ryan said.

“Lucas James Dowell (Luke) Gold Trails brightest star; horseman, entertainer but most importantly husband, father, son, brother and loyal mate.”
Musician Simon Watts then played Danny Boy on the violin in the men’s honour before a minute’s silence.
36 different floats then made their way down Marsden Street for the street parade, with Boorowa Community Bank Best Overall Float going to Percy the Pig.
Other awards for floats included:
- Funniest Float: Baarbie
- Best Wool Float: Shearing Shack
- Best Children’s Float: Pirate Pete
- Best Irish Float: Canberra Celtic Band

The organising committee behind Woolfest would like to thank everyone for their support and make special mention to the National Flyball Teams.
