The RFS South West Slopes Zone, will be conducting a training day on Sunday, September 10 at various sites around Boorowa from 7.30am and finishing at around 6pm.
The day could see up to 25 brigades and 130 personnel in total involved.
The main focus of the exercise is to enhance the level of skills, knowledge and operational procedures to better equip these volunteers and staff to undertake their RFS roles throughout the year.
The exercise is a non-competitive, hands on learning experience via five scenarios and tasks that all crews will attempt to complete.
The RFS zone would like to alert residents that there will be a large number of RFS vehicles and personnel in the area for the day.
“Locals should be aware there will be Fire Trucks driving around in groups of five on the day,” RFS District Manager Andrew Dillon said.
“The showground will be a good place for people to have a look at what we are doing, we don't want people coming too close because there will be a lot of activity but they can get a view of our training.
“Were really looking forward to it and the most important thing about the day is to better prepare our people for the upcoming fire season,” he said.
Any RFS members wishing to participate on the day are asked to contact their local brigade captain.
The NSW Rural Fire Service Association (RFSA) will be providing sponsorship for the day.
