Many keen judges thought the better side lost but unfortunately the scoreboard said otherwise.
At one stage Boorowa led 14-4 and seemed to be in control however Crookwell, aided by a fair share of luck came roaring back into contention to take the game in a heartbreaker for the gallant Roverettes.
The league tag squad, led admirably by Coach Brendon Shean did themselves and their town extremely proud on Saturday and over the course of the season.
In the other semi-final of league tag, the Harden Hawkettes 22 beat the Boomanulla Raiderettes 8.
This week’s league tag will see Crookwell Play Boomanulla at Boorowa with the loser done for the year whilst in the major semi on Sunday Bungendore take on Harden at Crookwell with winner to go to the grand final.
Bungendore won’t be troubled a great deal by Harden in the major semi but the minor semi between Crookwell and Boomanulla should be closer with Boomanulla favoured in this one.
This will be a good match and well worth getting up to the Showground early at 1.30 on Saturday to watch these girls go around.
The presentation night for the Roverettes and Rovers will be held on September 16th at the Ex-Services Club to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the league tag side.
See you there.
