On Wednesday August 9 the first round of the Club Championships began.

Monica Good had an Eagle on the 18th hole with a “3” - in this same hole she had a gamble from 125 metres out.

There was congratulations and screaming best wishes from all over the course as Monica bent down to get her ball out of the hole.

A fantastic achievement for Monica as this hole is one of the hardest holes on the course, congratulations Monica.

Her partner Del Greig for the day pinned the eagle on Monica later that day.

The winners so far for the Championship are:

  • A Grade on the wings of an Eagle – Monica Good
  • B Grade – Suzanne Manning
  • C Grade – Polly Farrell

Nearest the Pin on the 17th hole was Hazel Gardner, 18th hole winner Margaret Blomfield, G.N.S.W Medal Kate Crisp and President’s Trophy Suzanne Manning.

Next week will be the second round of the Championships, starting time 9.30am.

Monthly Medal “6” count your putts.

On Cards Leanne Farrell and Wendy Tuckerman.

The girls are all gearing up for Boorowa’s annual Tournament.

Last year was washed out by too much rain, hope that this year we might have an abundance of players from all over the south west region.

We should have plenty of players since we have had 16 – 18 players throughout the year.
