Water has no GST added, electricity does.
One very good way to make electricity more affordable has been suggested – take the GST component off the bill.
Instant 10% reduction on our power costs, a saving of $200.00 or more on the annual electricity cost families face.
Simple!

Tom went to a book store and asked the saleswoman, “Where is the self help section?”
She said if she told him it would defeat the purpose.

A very careful and very considerate senior motorist has drawn my attention to a very significant breach of road safety rules.
I must admit I’ve also noted this far too often.
More and more people walk or jog to improve their health, usually with music playing in their ears.
Here is the worrying point.
When walking on a road, many walk on the left hand side.
I can remember well, being told as a youngster, to walk on the right hand side facing the oncoming traffic.
I would hate to see health activities have disastrous results.
It is far healthier to be able to see and hear the traffic.

An old gentleman living alone in New Jersey US wanted to plant his annual tomato garden.
It was difficult work, the ground was hard and his son who used to help him was in prison.
He wrote to his son saying, “I’m feeling pretty sad today and it looks like I won’t be able to plant my tomato garden this year. I know if you were here you’d be happy to dig the plot like always.”
A few days later he received a letter from his son, “Dear Papa, don’t dig up that garden. That’s where the bodies are buried.”
At 4.00am the next day, FBI agents and local police arrived and dug up the entire area without finding any bodies.
They apologized to the old man and left.
That same day the old man received another letter from his son, “Dear Papa, go ahead and plant your tomatoes now. That’s the best I could do under the circumstances.”

I don’t quite believe it, but then again – the reason the French eat snails is ……. they don’t like fast food.

September 9 at a polling booth near you 18 nominees will become 11 Councilors on the inaugural Hilltops Council, an historic first.
Three Councilors from the former Boorowa Council have nominated having decided to run as a group, a decision I hope is validated.
Wendy Tuckerman, Chris Corcoran and Jack Ryan are our three hopefuls.
Harden have four candidates, Young five with two candidates running from Murringo, the rest from various villages in the shire.
Boorowa needs strong representation and in our local candidates we have that in spades.
Now we need to get Boorowa behind them.
I’ve said it many times, I know in Wendy, Chris and Jack we have candidates intent on making Hilltops work. That is all we can ask of the rest.

As we approach September 9, we should hear more about the candidates. Vote wisely and don’t waste your democratic right. Consider:
“Elections belong to the people. It’s their decision. If they decide to turn their backs on the fire and burn their behinds, then they’ll just have to sit on their blisters.” (Abraham Lincoln)
