However, typically, following such a start, a perfect winter afternoon greeted golfers to our course for the Brett Watts stroke trophy on Saturday, July 15.
A very handy net 62 saw Simon Pye take home the winners trophy.
It appears Simon has found consistency with his golf in recent times, resulting in him being regularly among the trophies.
This form and accuracy also enabled Simon to win the nearest to pin prize.
Rob Gorham, with net 65, narrowly pipped Greg Atkins, net 66, for runner up, leaving Greg sole ball comp winner.
Last Saturday, July 22, Boorowa Golf Club welcomed a number of lady golfers who teamed with some of the men to compete in the Brian and Robyn Smith mixed two person competition.
This is a tough format to score low as each pair has to play to a handicap one sixth of their aggregate handicap.
The team of Leanne Farrell and Phil Johnston won the day with a very impressive net 63 1/16.
Hot on their heels were the fast finishing hosts Robyn and Brian Smith with net 63 2/3.
Two excellent scores for this format.
Del Greig and Robert Dunwoodie secured third place with their score of net 68, while Polly Farrell and Andrew McGrath cemented fourth position on net 69.
Jason Greig's trophy is scheduled for play next Saturday, July 29 followed by the monthly medal on Sunday, July 30.
