Last Saturday saw the Goldies take on Jindabyne in the last home game of the season. Unfortunately, the Goldies went down to a very determined 14-man Jinda team 34-26.

The Goldies’ started off like they have been for the last few weeks, with some sloppy play, bad hands and little continuity. In past weeks, they have managed to play it out of their game in the first 20 minutes but they couldn’t do this on Saturday.
The heart and effort was definitely there from the boys but they just didn’t get the break. The Goldies were first to score with a great try from, actually I cant remember.
So whoever scored the try I am sorry that you don’t get a mention. Maybe it was Brad Rose… oh no he has been on holidays for the past six weeks and doesn’t care about the Goldies. Unbelievable Brad.
Jye Patterson, who slotted into fullback this week in the absence of Mark Poplin, had a great game and showed flair. Unfortunately it looks like Poppy may be out for the season with three broken bones in his right hand.
Now you may ask how he did this but I am not willing to share in such a public forum like this. Let’s just say it was not from work, footy or chopping wood.
One positive was that the forward managed to steal a couple of lineouts and hold their own in the scrum.
James Green scored a great try in the corner after some good passing but it was his conversion from the sideline that was the highlight of the day.
Jim “Mad Shagga” McGrath said after the game, “Jeez Greeny actually can kick, not bad for a red head”. Harsh Jim, I’ll have you know my Dad has red hair, been convicted of two murders and has a serious anger management issue. I just hope the Boorowa News isn’t sold in Ireland for your wellbeing.
A huge shout out must also go to Susie Fagan who organised a great Family Fun Day at the footy. There was face painting, a bouncing castle and Gussy Clements was making animals out of balloons for all the kids. Great effort Susie. It’s people like you and I that make Boorowa Rugby Club such a great organisation. Also a huge thank you to all the mums and dads who brought their kids along.
This weekend the boy’s have a well deserved bye before the wedding crashers return. This week’s points went to Vinnie Ryan (3), Issac Clarke (2), Rim Gregory (1) and Players’ Player went to Rim Gregory.
