With a lot of players out due to bloody selfish Dane Rowley’s wedding in Ireland, injuries and other pitiful excuses the boys managed to scrape fifteen to field a team.
It was good to have captain/coach Marty back after two weeks in Vietnam.
The Boars eventually ran out comprehensive winners with a score line of 44-14 however Marty informed me that the Boars got a few late tries that made the score more flattering for them.
Even with an unfamiliar forward pack the Goldies managed to put pressure on the Bay boys at scrum and line out.
The backs again were not afraid to throw the ball around.
Ryan Simpson showing his experience with some very solid defence and great tackle busts.
A huge pat on the back must go to our resident spray rigger Ryan who has really stood up over the last few with some of the other so called big gun away.
Another stand out performance in the backline was Mark Poplin who was on fire making some great breaks and great tackles.
Huge heart for such a little fart! Good on ya Poppy.
The whole team stayed down in the Bay for the night which seemed to have been a pretty big night for all.
Luckily no one lost their clothes on the bus home!
As you will probably notice this week’s article is pure and utter rubbish (I haven’t even proof read this).
This is purely because I wasn’t at the game.
However, this weekend we play Jindabyne at home and it’s Family Day, which I will be at and I promise to write the most accurate report and the most controversial piece of writing ever.
If you are at the game, make sure you buy me a beer, tell me how well I am looking and what a wonderful nation the Irish are.
If you don’t then you will feel the wrath of the pen next week.
You have been warned Megan Clarke and Izzy Pantry!
This week’s points went too:
- Three points – Ryan Simpson
- Two points – Mark Poplin
- One point – Rim Gregory
- Players’ Player went to Ryan Simpson.
- Chick Pick went to Duncan McGrath for not being able to drink…..
