It’s a tremendously readable book painting a vivid picture of life for Rose, and the tough bush existence for her and her family. They were living on an isolated station near Binalong and in tight financial circumstances.
The afternoon is on Saturday, August 5 at 2pm at the Uniting Church Hall, Cliff Street, Yass.
“Rose’s son Banjo will also feature through a selection of his verse,” Yass Historical Society President Cheryl Mongan said.
“Jennifer as well as being an author is an accomplished musician and will be playing music of the times giving us more insight into the era of Rose and Banjo.”
A delicious high tea will be served. Bookings are essential. The cost for the afternoon is just $10 for Historical Society Members and $12 for guests.
Bookings and enquiries to Maureen Collins 6226 1334 or Anne Pigram 6226 4894 before July 31.
It will be great fun and an opportunity to learn more of our local history. We ask that you book early.
