Despite fielding a depleted side, the Goldies were able to topple the Yass Rams 24-10 in Yass last Saturday.

Last Saturday saw the goldies take on the Yass Rams, in Yass.

Again, with a depleted side due to some selfish so called players and team players going away on holidays, weddings, birthdays, christenings and Mardi Gras parades.

However, it didn’t stop the Goldies once again grinding out another good win.

Eventually beating the Yass Rams 24-10.

It is always a tough game in Yass, they are always up for a hard fought game against us which makes it good coming over here.

In a somewhat sloppy affair the Goldies made hard work of it with their attack not up to their usual standards however it was their defence that won them the game.

None more so than Friendy making a bone crunching, try saving taken on the line late in the game to stop Yass from scoring.

Adam MockaadajfaKBDSHAbsdkbasdsdLKDABSLJHDhasdaDBEKLBEH (pretty sure that’s the correct spelling) was seen hitting two rucks, now I didn’t see it as I wasn’t at the game and I don’t believe it either.

Set piece was again solid by the Goldies.

Captain/coach Marty Corcoran said after the game “ammmmmm yeah, a hard fought game, we managed to hold up the Yass attack on three occasions on our line. It is always a tough game in Yass, they are always up for a hard fought game against us which makes it good coming over here”.

Lockie McGuinness again stepped into the five eight role in the absence once again from Brad Rose and did a fine job.

Vinnie Ryan also had a great game with his tireless work-rate.

Sadly Tom Simson picked up some sort of injury, to his ankle.

I am sure we will read all about it from the serial Facebooker.

Rumours has it its not serious but he might be out for a week or two.

Get well soon Tom, I am sure Facebook will keep you busy.

I texted Marty Corcoran for the point this morning and this was his reply:

  • Three points – Marty Corcoran
  • Two points – Marty Corcoran
  • One point – Marty Corcoran
  • Players’ player – Marty Corcoran

This week’s Chick Pick went to Jack Ryan.

Asked about winning Chicks Pick, Jack said “Yeah Flemo, bloody beautiful day. Delighted to be crowned Chick Pick this week. I have been turning up to games all year trying to win this prestigious award and I have finally won it. I will wear the crown with pride and joy.”
