Jenkins has been chosen for the under 16s New South Wales Country Rugby League team which is touring New Zealand now.
Jenkins was named in the representative team after he competed in the Country Championship for the Bidgee Bulls, a team made up of players from groups eight, nine and 20.
At the end of the championship, Jenkins was selected for the NSW Country under 16s side on the wing.
The young winger will play at Wingham Park in Greymouth today and Canterbury Agricultural Park in Christchurch on Saturday, July 8 before returning home.
Young Cherrypickers Under 16s Coach Garry Lucas said that Jenkins is a good kid and an excellent player who will do whatever is needed of him on the field.
“He’s really pumped, and we wish him the best of luck,” he said.
“We know he’ll do well and we are looking forward to having him back in our side after this experience.
“We are really proud of Tom, and it is good to see him progress to make a representative team.”
Jenkins said he was happy to get the opportunity to play for the under 16’s New South Wales Country Rugby League team.
