Well, you’ll be very excited to learn that ‘CenWest Innovate’ – a joint initiative by Charles Sturt University (CSU) and the NSW Department of Industry – will be holding such an event in Young in July, which will seek to share some of the latest and cutting-edge thinking with our business owners on all things marketing; from identifying target markets, to branding, product design and effective communications – the knowledge will be invaluable.
Hilltops Council has been lobbying behind the scenes for quite some time for CenWest Innovate to bring one of their workshops to the area; this is just one example of the various initiatives the Council team is working on in order to deliver first-class events, opportunities and services to residents.
I encourage all businesses – regardless of size – to seize the opportunity and go along to this event.
Tickets are available by jumping on the website: www.eventbrite.com.au
Speaking of services coming to town, the RMS will this week be conducting free child car seat safety checks in Young.
I was surprised to learn that two in three car seats aren’t being used properly, so if you want to double-check that yours is installed correctly, inspections will be held Thursday, June 22, 9am-noon at Harden Geelan in Young.
Bookings can be made by phoning (02) 6923 6614.
Another service that will be available to residents in the coming weeks is the ‘Household Chemical Cleanout’.
Run by the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA), the cleanout is designed to provide residents with the chance to safely get rid of household chemicals that may be lying around.
Details about drop-off locations in Young, Boorowa and Harden are available on Council’s website.
