As a result of this, the Club is committed to giving back to the community that supports them so staunchly and unwaveringly.
In an attempt to repay this support, the Club hosts an annual charity Ladies Day each year.
This annual event is aimed to celebrate the women of our community, to raise funds for specially selected charities, and of course to have a very good time doing it.
Each year the event is an outstanding success, and with hour upon hour of work by the rugby committee in the lead up to each year’s festivities, the Club manages to creatively come up with entertaining initiatives to raise funds.
This theme is set to continue in 2017 with the Club choosing to raise funds for Karinya House Home for Mothers & Babies Inc. which is a community based, not-for-profit organisation providing supported accommodation, transitional housing, outreach services and support groups to pregnant and parenting women and their families who are in crisis.
The service, which operates on a twenty-four hour, seven days a week basis, is located in the ACT.
Make sure you show your support for this brilliant initiative and come along to what is set to be a great day and evening!
The customary ‘Ladies Tent’ will be set up at the rugby field, where all ladies in attendance at the match will receive a complimentary champagne, nibblies and some fantastic company for the afternoon!
Make sure you invite your family and friends to join us on the day, as the Goldies love to play in front of a large crowd, especially those players competing for the all-important Ladies Day ‘Chicks Pick’!
The colour theme this year will be aqua and grey to reflect the Karinya House logo and the Goldies will be playing in specially designed jumpers.
Join us for an evening of fun to follow the rugby at the Boorowa Hotel (Top Pub) where there will be a charity auction, including the playing jerseys.
The major auction item this year will be a Murrumbatman Winery Tour – a Sunday bus trip to visit a number of wineries and will include wine tasting, cheese platters and lunch.
The tour can cater for 16, so organise a syndicate and get ready for the bidding!
The evening will be rounded off with entertainment by Chalkie.
The Rugby Club invites everyone to join us on Ladies Day, June 17, 2017.
