World War 1 was still raging in Europe, and a lot of the articles in this edition related to the war effort of locals from Boorowa.
The paper made the decision to continually publish the names of those who were fighting in the Great War.
“We have much pleasure in giving our readers a list of the local brave men who have volunteered their help on the battlefields to the Mother Country, and we intend to publish same until peace is declared,” it says.
There was also a war service meeting announcement for “farmers, business people and others”.
In politics, this funny anecdote was included:
“Mr A. E. Buttershaw, State Member for Lachlan, asked if there was any local affairs which needed attention.”
“Yes,” said one. “Get rid of the ------- mice and give us two inches of rain!”
