Harold was one of 11 children born to Thomas Bentley Prosser and Eleanor Prosser nee Clements. A sister Mary Alice Prosser married Herbert Malone, brother of Walter mentioned in the story. Another sister Marion Ivy Prosser was in the nursing service in WW1 and attained the rank of captain.
