The plan was developed by considering the key priorities identified in the three former Councils Community Strategic Plans and the associated actions within the delivery and operational plans. The five pillars of the Operational Plan are Community, Economic, Environmental, Governance and Leadership, and Infrastructure. Underneath each pillar, Council has outlined actions to be undertaken to align our region with the strategic vision.
The Draft Operational Plan and budget will be presented this week at a combined Local Representation Committee meeting in Young prior to being endorsed by Council for public exhibition.
Council is seeking broad community input into the plan with a key mechanism being community forums. Three evening community forums have been planned:
- Boorowa Ex-Services Club, May 8, 6pm
- Young Town Hall, May 10, 6pm
- Harden Mechanic’s Institute, May 11, 6pm
These forums will allow residents and ratepayers the opportunity to engage directly with Council prior to making written submissions for Council to consider.
Further information will be provided on alternate opportunities for the community to engage with Council on the plan should they be unable to attend the scheduled community meetings. I strongly encourage everyone to take the opportunity to review the plans and provide their input prior to it being finalised.
