The competition attracted 12 teams who played seven matches, with two teams finishing the seven weeks on five wins each.

There can only be one winner so this meant the two teams had to return to the green and bowl off to the yardstick.

Each team member bowls three bowls with only those finishing within one yard of the kitty counting.

The team of Neville Thurtell, Mick O’Dea and Barry Coble prevailed in the bowl off four shots to one.

Congratulations to the winners and commiserations to the runners up, Clare Curtis, Jeffrey (Ace) Summerfield and Graham Carmody.

This is a fun night so in reality all teams are winners.

An encouragement award is presented, this time going to the team of Justin Flemming, Duncan McGrath and Mark Corcoran.

Bowlers can now look forward to twilights resuming in Spring, but if anyone is looking for a game of bowls, Thursday social bowls is a good place to look.

Mixed triples is the usual game with fun the key element.
