The temperature reached 43 degrees in Boorowa and across the Hilltops region on Saturday before the weather provided some relief, dropping to 32 on Sunday.
Boorowa also experienced high winds on Saturday night which saw trees uprooted and damage caused to infrastructure throughout the town and surrounds, including the loss of shade cloths at the pool and playground.
RFS crews and Essential Energy workers spent the weekend and Monday cleaning up the damage in areas such as the Lachlan Valley Way, Rugby, Kenyu, Murringo, Little Plains, and Kenny’s Creek Roads.
