They lost by the narrow margin of five runs to the Yass Golf Club Taipans in a match that went the full distance of eighty overs.
The Taipans posted a handy score of 4/182 whilst the Crocs in reply reached 6/177 in their allotted overs.
On a very hot afternoon, the Crocs were asked to field first and did well to restrict Yass to 2/54 off the first twenty overs.
In the second half of the innings, the batting line up stepped on the gas to hit 128 at 6 an over and post 4/182.
Wickets takers for Boorowa were Blake Toman with 2/31 and Alex Blomfield 2/15.
Russel George bowled seven tidy overs without luck to finish with 0/17.
In reply, the veterans, Russell George and Phil Coggins put on a chanceless century opening stand to have the Crocs in a powerful position at 0/103 after 20 overs.
Coggo perished shortly after drinks for 22 with the score on 107 whilst Russell followed shortly after for a brilliant 78 to leave the Crocs on 2/117. Some tight spin bowling tied the crocs down to the point where they needed 32 off the last three overs.
It was a case of Boorowa losing their way in pacing their innings and leaving the lower order with too much to do. Nick Dwyer hit a quick fire 23 including one massive six but it wasn’t quite enough as the overs expired.
Meanwhile at home, the Gators had the weekend off after a last minute forfeit by the Aussie Hotel gave them an easy win.
Just two rounds remain and this week sees two very important matches for the local sides.
The Gators are virtually in a must win situation if they are to make the B- Grade playoffs. They have a tough assignment against the top of the table Harden team at Harden but are capable of knocking over the front runners.
Meanwhile the Crocs are clinging on to fourth spot after two narrow losses. They face a desperate Binalong who must win both their last two games to make the four.
Get on down to bay 13 this Saturday to support the Crocs or why not take a drive to Harden to watch the Gators go around. Then it’s back to the Courthouse on Saturday night for another night of fun and frivolity.
