The Hilltops communities are invited to celebrate Australia Day in 2017 at ceremonies planned for Young, Harden and Boorowa on Thursday, January 26.
Australia Day Ambassadors include ABC Gardening Australia host Costa Georgiadis to officiate in Young.
Architect and reality show “House Rules” judge Joe Snell will be in Harden.
Media executive, former TV presenter and women’s advocate Emma Rossi will speak at this years’ Boorowa event.
The program for Young starts at 8.30am with a BBQ breakfast at Carrington Park, a citizenship ceremony, the Australia Day Ambassador address and the announcement of the Australia Day Awards.
Harden’s celebrations will commence at Newson Park with a breakfast at 8am.
The official ceremony will include the Australia Day Ambassador address and presentation of the Australia day community awards.
The day will finish with all invited to free entry at the Harden Swimming Pool.
Boorowa’s Australia Day celebrations will be held at the Boorowa Recreation Park from 8am to 12noon, with a Lions Club breakfast in the park followed by the official ceremony and presentation of the Australia day community awards.
Hilltops villages will also be conducting ceremonies and events and all details of Australia day activities can be found on the Hilltops website www.hilltops.nsw.gov.au.
Over the Christmas and the New Year period the Rural Fire Service has been attending numerous fire outbreaks.
I would like to recognise the wonderful work undertaken by our volunteers and emergency personal during this period and commend them on their commitment to ensuring our communities and surrounding properties are protected.
