The first training session for the Rovers and the new league tag team, the Roverettes will be next Thursday January 19 at the recreation ground. Indications are that both sides will have good numbers and all interested players are encouraged to attend training.
New coach Josh Burns is keen to get the Rovers into top gear early whilst Roverettes coach Brendon Shean has been busy mapping out their preseason.
The competitions are scheduled to commence on April 21 with both teams expected to play trial matches in the coming weeks. The George Tooke Shield will see three new teams in the competition which promises to be highly competitive,
Their main trial will be the annual fixture against the UC Grizzlies scheduled for two weeks before the season on April 8.
Saturday February 18 will see the now traditional Boorowa Rovers bowls evening take place at the Ex-services club. No skill is needed and all are welcome to attend for a small cost of $10 to cover the green fees and BBQ. Fun and fellowship is what the evening is all about.
The Rovers and Roverettes are still looking for volunteers in a variety of jobs, so if you want to be a key part in this year’s season please contact the Rovers committee or the Courthouse Hotel.
The season will be here before you know it so why not get on board in 2017.
